Areas of Competition
Interview 35%
At Canadian National Miss interview is one of our most important competitions. We want our queens to have a strong platform or cause that they want to work on for their year of reign.
In this portion of the competition you will have the opportunity to explain this to the judges. There will be ZERO political questions. The questions will all be about you and why you should be the next queen.
Our interviews are held in a round-robin format. You will rotate through one on one interviews with each judge.
Attire for this competition is more glamourous than your average job interview so feel free to incorporate your own style into the look. We suggest wearing a dress or jumpsuit style outfit.
Personal Introduction 15%
At Canadian National Miss we admire the skill of public speaking.
Each contestant will have 45 seconds to deliver a speech about themselves. This should include their name, age, hobbies or interests as well as their chosen platform or cause they support as a Canadian National Miss contestant.
The key to this competition is having compelling content and delivering it in a professional and engaging manner.
The speech will be presented on stage directly following the opening number.
You will wear the same black dress as your opening number outfit for the Introduction competition.
Fun Fashion 25%
Fun Fashion is you chance to show your personality on stage. Choose something that will pop and show the judges who you are!
Your outfit can be anything you choose as long as it is not a floor length gown.
On stage contestants will be asked to do a minimum of two turns in their routine (these can be full of half turns) to demonstrate your modeling skills
Evening Gown 25%
Evening gown is the most glamourous and elegant phase of competition for the delegates. We ask that all evening gowns worn in this competition are floor length gowns.
While slits, mesh panels and low necklines are allowed at Canadian National Miss, please consider if the style is appropriate as this will factor into scoring.
